Summary - Betty Blogger Summer School

Although I have a long way to go to consider myself an expert, my knowledge of Web 2.0 applications is much better after this course.  I would rate myself a 4, which is quite an improvement from my previous 0.
Both Betty Blogger and Library Lady met my expectations.
I did find it a bit of a challenge to do this course during the summer months due to vacation, family activities, and in general just wanting to be outside as much as possible.  I also found that the program covered so may different applications I don't feel like I really understand any of them well.  I would have preferred to learn fewer applications, but more in depth.  However, the program did provide the basics to carry on and improve my knowledge by using the applications taught.
Yes, I would recmmend this program to others.

Week #9 Library Thing

Love "Library Thing"!  What a great tool for keeping track of books.  I especially like the lists of other readers with some of the same titles.  Great way to find suggestions or other authors/books to consider.
This is definitely a tool I would like to continue to use.

Week #8 RSS Feeds

I subscribed to two individual feeds, and one "bundle".
"Oakland University"
"What's making Hamilton Headlines" - Hamilton Spectator
"News" Bundle

Google Reader was fairly easy to navigate.  I will try it out for a while and watch for updates.

Week #7 Wikis

Fresh fruit platters are my contribution to our family meal.  Once I figured out that the "section" to add our contribution to was the "Comment" and not to "edit" the front page, it seemed easy to use.  Although I don't currently have a need for my own wiki, it's nice to know what can be done with it for possible future needs.

Week #5 Photo Sharing

Tags assigned to picture I sent:  Canada, red, maple, nature, trees, fiery, fall, colors
Picasa is a great place to locate photos of interest and to keep track of favourites, and organize photos.  However, I am surprised at how many "peronal" photos are made public on here.
I can see some possible uses for this application and may continue to use it.

Week #4 Social Networks

Twitter was fun.  Interesting to see other followers tweets.
I do have concerns that social networking can become all-consuming for some users, however can be a great communication tool for those who use it wisely!
I do think I will continue to use Twitter, especially once I play with it a little more and set up the mobile settings.
